... and someone had "forgot" to close your cage, AND you had an entire house to roam, where would you be? Not that I have that problem or anything. Nope. No loose hamsters here.
On a completely unrelated note- Apparently now I will be spending spring break cleaning out EVERY #$%^$ corner of my house. For FUN. Not to find lost rodents or anything.
(By the way, Eric- if you say one word about how you just KNEW this was going to happen, I might be forced to harm you.)

My hamster (Maggie) got out a couple of months ago at my parents house...
It was very scary, as they have four cats...
My dad tracked my hamster down by following one of the cats... the hamster had crawled up inside his amp.
A traumatic morning... i was a half hour late to work.
So my advice, if by some crazy chance YOU had a hamster that got out?? FOllow the cat!
This is Harmony's mom, and I just couldn't resist, Generally, when you have lost / accidentially released / misplaced any sort of pet smaller than a Shetland pony in your house, it is generally wise to tell your child(ren) that this pet has moved on / gone to that big animal cage in the sky / is on vacation at Aunt Lilly's (and just make certain Aunt Lilly is either too far away to visit or is in on the story). If the animal shows up, surprise, surprise, wow, you've got your pet back. If you have to track down that funky smell coming from the floor vent, just make certain you do it after the kids are in bed.
In 52 years, I do not think I have ever ONCE recaptured any kind of escaped rodent-type pet... in fact, I may have lost a couple of my children that way.
Good luck.
Holy novel, mother!
Now we've broken the silence--my mom reads your blog!
You are hilarious and need to write a book. It's settled.
