Things That Suck.

In no particular order...
  • bathrooms that need cleaning.
  • tivo's that forget to record what you wanted them to.
  • a child missing a toenail, and the drama that comes with that situation.
  • laundry.
  • more laundry.
  • laundry that you leave in the washing machine .002 seconds longer than it should be, which starts to smell and you have to wash all over again- significantly screwing up your laundry "groove" and making you kick the washer.
  • a hamster that may or may not have some sort of neurological problem, and will have to probably be replaced very soon (crap.)
  • accidentally answering "okay" when your child asks if it can dress the cat up in a princess dress and have a parade for it.
  • commercials about armpits.
  • the slugs eating all your plants.
  • taking your mother to the emergency room because she is having some shortness of breath thing that she describes as "no big deal" but agrees to go to the hospital WAY too easily.
  • being a grown-up.
  • insane brain-cracking headaches that come from dealing with the above.
  • the giant spider in the very top corner of my 2-stories-tall vaulted ceiling
  • all this stinking rain.
  • the swingset still in boxes in the garage (see above rain).
  • a random piece of bra strap that keeps poking me in the back where I can't reach it.
  • temporarily losing your optimism & perspective and wanting to just live out your life curled up on your couch eating Nutella straight from the jar.
  • being OUT of Nutella!
  • thinking last month that I would want to work an extra shift tomorrow, and signing up for that shift, and then realizing I don't really want to go to work tomorrow so much.
  • playing with your camera, accidentally leaving it on some random setting, and then taking a whole bunch of pictures that turn out all crappy because you weren't paying attention.
  • chipped toenail polish.
  • being this whiny and ridiculous.

To be fair, there are a few things that don't suck, too- I woke up to Ella tucking me in with every blanket that she owns while singing a made-up Ella song. She is pretty intuitive- she's spent the morning being especially silly & cheering me up. And my sister cleaned the playroom yesterday- that room makes me crazy sometimes, and being able to see the floor again (for twenty whole minutes) is a wonderful thing. Also- drugs. Drugs that make your headache better (is it okay to take ibuprofen by the handful? No?) And Grace is super excited about her birthday this weekend. She's been counting down all month. And SATURDAY. Saturday I get to fly away to Florida for an entire week of doing absolutely NOTHING (well, I could work on getting rid of this attitude maybe.)

I think I'll give myself another hour to sit in my pajamas and be grumpy. I can't stay like this forever- eventually I'll have to leave the house to get some more Nutella.

I feel you woman. Yesterday was that day for me. I wallowed in it and made this fantastic coconut pudding thing you can only find in Hawaii.

And then, after eating half of it, realized that it kiiiiiiind of smelled like breast milk.

And then FREAKED.

Question: Am I a lesbian now?

(don't let my mother or Grace read this one. I'm just going to pretend this is an email just for you.)

NOTICE: I DID NOT READ THE PREVIOUS COMMENT FROM HARMONY

As an old lady myself, I have to ask - everything okay with your Mom? One of the most frustrating days of my entire LIFE was when I took my husband into the ER in the morning for chest pains - and then in the AFTERNOON, had to take my FATHER to the same ER for the exact same symptoms.

The ER people think I cause people around to have heart attacks.
